2nd Amendment proposals from the State Conventions

While Congress was debating proposed amendments to present as the Bill of Rights for ratification by the several State conventions, the States were also busy having called their conventions and debating proposed amendments.

Matt Merkovich - Another Hollywood Communist ?

So I chimed in on a tweet by Matthew Merkovich the other day where this piece of Hollywood trash where he and his twitter friends where posting and agreeing on a meme "if you can't define socialism, you don't get to bitch about it."  I of course, hating all things socialist, simply wrote "Socialism may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private wealth."  To which Mr. Hollywood responded with "Ah perfect. F-. You are excused from the conversation."  Now normally I would just laugh at his stupidity, rigidity, and overall ignorance, but I decided to go all Taylor Swift on him here.  So let us review what we know.

We know that socialism is the antithesis of individualism.  Individualism seeks the personal liberty, freedom, and happiness of individuals to which the ends will be in the good of the public welfare.  It requires the acceptance of the ideas like hard work, the importance of family, and the notion of exceptionalism.  Socialism regards the whole of society as one inseparable organic structure that will secure for everyone a common level of well-being on an economic, social, and political stage.  Socialism requires a system of social control over private property and a distribution of income to put it into practice.  Contrary to popular belief, socialism does not necessitate the abolition of private property so long as property, like income, it distributed in a "moral" way.  Socialism then can be summed up as a federation or community ownership and control, of the common means and instruments of creating and distributing wealth.

This is just the most basic of basic ideas behind the idea of the social society which has been around for many hundreds of years long and did not start with Marx as many would believe.  Social societies are based upon religious communes and have only ever had a moderate success when based in a religious morality, but I regress.  Back to tweeting and the 140 characters of death.  I will say again.

Socialism may be summed up in a single sentence:  Abolition of private wealth. 

Another Democrat Disconnected from Reality

Ms. FUDGE. Madam Speaker, prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act, 23 percent of Ohioans with incomes below 133 percent of the Federal poverty level were uninsured. But thanks to the expansion of Medicaid in my home State of Ohio, all of the almost 600,000 residents who are uninsured with incomes below 138 percent of the Federal poverty level will now have access to Medicaid coverage.  In my district alone, an additional 72,000 people became eligible for Medicaid. And next Monday, December 9, all of these individuals will be able to begin signing up for health care coverage that begins January 1. No longer will I receive calls from constituents like Brandon Proctor, who was told that he was ‘‘too rich for Medicaid but too poor for subsidies.’’  This is the way the Affordable Care Act was supposed to work. Yes, this is my representative to Congress.  This is the woman that is more thankful to not be receiving phone calls than the long-term implications of the Affordable Care Act.  The one where Mr. Obama is currently being forced to use Hollywood and himself to go on a campaign of pleading and begging millennials to embrace and pay for this policy.  She is disconnected from the reality of the economic implications of this law let alone the truth that the commerce clause was once again used to override the bill of rights by the Court.  The ACA is the American horror story.  Perhaps a convincing argument can change her mind.

I would remind the Congresswoman that at Cleveland State University in February 2008.  Mr. Obama slammed Mrs. Clinton for her health care plan because of the fact that it required a mandate.  Mr. Obama knew full well that a mandate will cause a situation where "people are being fined for not having purchased health care, but choose to accept the fine because they still can't afford it, even with the subsidies. And they are then worse off.  They then have no health care and are paying a fine above and beyond that."  Mr. Obama campaigned on a no-mandate health care reform and then just like all his other lies abandoned that and allowed a committee to write legislation and used his party to push it through Congress.  This is not creating American exceptionalism, but American socialism.

One last word from Mr. Obama on the subject.

"And the last point I would like to make is the insurance companies actually are happy to have a mandate.  The insurance companies don't mind making sure everybody has to purchase their product.
That's not something they're objecting to". 

And yes, Congressman he said this at Cleveland State University which ironically is in the 11th District represented by one Marcia L. Fudge, Democrat.
